Monster Hunter Wilds’ Festival of Accord: Flamefete is pulling players back into the grind. With new cosmetic rewards and a supercharged version of Uth Duna making waves, it’s a sizzling new event!
And the best part? There’s a free Water Gun for all players. You can use it to spray your buddies in hub areas or soak NPCs like Gemma or Alma for some classic Summer fun.
Unlocking the Water Gun
Right after launching the game, you’ll already have access to the Water Gun. It’s part of the free content from Monster Hunter Wilds’ Flamefete event, alongside Arch-Tempered Uth Duna and new gear like the Afi Armor Set.
Equipping the Water Gun
Equipping it is easy. Just scroll through your Gestures list under the Communications tab and look for the “Water Gun” option. Add it to your Communication Wheel if you want to start spontaneous water fights with friends from time to time.
Other Things You Can Do with the Water Gun
The Water Gun isn’t just for splashing friends. You can also soak NPCs like Gemma the Smithy or Alma the Handler to see their reactions. Each one has a unique animation, making it a fun and lighthearted way to take a break from intense hunts.

Hunting Monsters with the Water Gun
Surprisingly, the Water Gun does have damage values and can be used in actual hunts. Some Monster Hunter creators, like Shincry, have already completed a hunt using only the Water Gun. In one case, it took nearly an hour to bring down a Chatacabra. You can check out the video here.
Flamefete Gestures
The Water Gun isn’t the only special gesture available. The Flamefete DLC Pack includes even more, though it’s part of the paid content priced at $32. One highlight is the Bugnet Emote, a throwback to classic Monster Hunter titles. With it, you can even pretend to catch bugs the old-fashioned way, instead of using the standard capture net.
