Halo Infinite introduces a revamped ranking system, different from past entries in the franchise. The ranked playlists pit players against each other in the competitive Halo yet.
343 Industries has unveiled where a majority of the players are distributed, with a Halo Waypoint blog post showcasing the proportion of players in each of the three ranked playlists.

Halo Infinite Rank Distributions Have Been Revealed

Ranked Open Queue

Ranked Solo/Duo Controller

Ranked Solo/Duo Mouse+Keyboard

The Competitive Skill Rank (CSR) for Open Queues is more skewed towards Platinum 1, while Solo/Duo is towards Onyx's side. There's also a peak on every chart at Diamond 1, as this is the highest rank possible after completing qualifying matches of 10:
343 Industries is also working on adjusting the CSR algorithm to make it more accurate and closer to player medians. More updates are also being planned in the future, including additions of co-op multiplayer and a Forge mode.
