Zenless Zone Zero: Hoshimi Miyabi Best Build Guide

Zenless Zone Zero Miyabi

Zenless Zone Zero Miyabi

Version 2.1 of Zenless Zone Zero welcomes Yuzuha and Alice into the playable character roster; however, it also brings the rerun of one of the strongest characters in the game. Hoshimi Miyabi, the chief of Hollow Special Operations Section 6. Many players flock to get her. If you're looking for the best build for her, then you're in the right place.

Miyabi may be one of the strongest DPS characters in the game right now, despite the addition of new characters almost every version. Many consider her a "must-pull" character due to her kit that deals a high amount of damage, even when you barely build her. She's been a lifesaver when I do content clearing, especially in the Battle Trials and Deadly Assault.

Zenless Zone Zero: Hoshimi Miyabi Best Build Guide

I've been waiting for Miyabi's release since beta, and got her immediately during her first run. This is because of how powerful Miyabi is (and she's just cute). Here are what I believe are the best W-Engines, Drive Discs, Teams, Skills Priority, and Stats for Miyabi.

W-Engine

Naturally, her S W-Enginge, Hailstorm Shrine, is her best tool. But she can use a few others in case you can't pull (or don't want to) her signature engine.

Hailstorm Shrine

As with most Agents in the game, I'd also recommend Miyabi's signature W-Engine Hailstorm Shrine as her best-in-slot (BiS). As with any DPS character in Zenless Zone Zero, it will be crucial to invest in CRIT DMG and Crit Rate. Her signature W-Engine has Crit Rate as its Advance Stat, and the effect increases her CRIT DMG by a whopping 50% which is already a huge boost by itself. Her Ice damage will also be boosted when she uses her EX Special Attack or when her team applies Anomaly.

This is honestly a no-brainer, and you should definitely invest in getting her W-Engine if you want Miyabi performing to the best of her abilities.

Fusion Compiler

This is Grace's W-Engine, and another great option for Anomaly characters when you don't have their BiS. This increases the user's ATK and also provides Anomaly Proficiency when using the Special Attack or EX Special Attack.

Rainforest Gourmet

This W-Engine was my lifesaver while I was praying to get Hailstorm Shrine during Miyabi's first banner run. Its Advanced Stat is Anomaly Proficiency, and it allows Miyabi to gain a buff that increases her attack damage for every 10 Energy that she consumes. Based on experience, I'm able to use her EX Special Attack constantly, so she benefits from the effects of this W-Engine.

Weeping Gemini

Another free-to-play (F2P) friendly W-Engine that can be used by Miyabi is Weeping Gemini. This can be used virtually by any of the Anomaly characters in the game, so it's good to have this on hand even if you replace it when you get the BiS W-Engine. Its Advance Stat is ATK% unconditionally, and also increases the equipper's Anomaly Proficiency. This is best used when you can constantly put Anomaly on the enemies.

I opted to put in Rainforest Gourmet and Weeping Gemini on the list instead of Electro-Lip Gloss since the latter is only obtainable through the New Eridu City Fund (Battlepass), which will cost real money. Both Rainforest Gourmet and Weeping Gemini can be bought through the Gadget Store on Sixth Street with W-Engine Chips and Anomaly Components.

Drive Discs

I only recommend what I have used and experimented with, as I have used Miyabi since her release. For the recommended main stats:

  • Disc 4: Crit Rate
  • Disc 5: Ice DMG Bonus (or ATK% while you don't have the Ice DMG)
  • Disc 6: ATK%

As usual with DPS characters, aim for high Crit Rate (ideally 80% and above) and CRIT DMG (I have 123.6% at the moment, but do aim to get higher). Then, ATK% and Anomaly Proficiency when you can.

Branch & Blade Song (4pc)

This will be Miyabi's best 4-piece Drive Disc set since it is made for her. The 2-piece effect provides her CRIT DMG, which is very important for her. However, you do need her Anomaly Mastery to be 115 or higher to get another CRIT DMG boost. She also gets a Crit Rate boost when any of the squad members triggers Freeze or Shatter. Miyabi herself can inflict Freeze effectively, so she utilizes the 4-piece set very well.

Polar Metal (4pc)

This is another good 4-piece set for Miyabi, which has an Ice DMG increase for the 2-piece set effect. It also provides Miyabi with increased Basic and Dash Attack damage, which increases when Freeze or Shatter are triggered by any team member. I'd still recommend Branch & Blade Song, but you can definitely use this if you want to experiment or find it more suitable to your needs.

2pc Sets

You can choose any of the following for her 2-piece set:

  • Polar Metal (If you're using the Branch & Blade Song 4pc)
  • Woodpecker Electro
  • Astral Voice

Skill Priority

For Miyabi, I encourage you to max her Basic Attack, Chain Attack, and EX Special Attack. Then you can level her Assist and Dodge when you're able to.

Team Setups

As I play Zenless Zone Zero, I think Miyabi fits with basically anybody (she's just that powerful). However, it's good to keep in mind that her passive abilities activate when there's a Support or a fellow Section 6 member in the team.

Yuzu-Vivi Team

Since Yuzuha's release, I think I've been spamming her and Vivian. Miyabi fits well in the team as well since she gains a lot from the boosts that Yuzuha provides to the team. Also, Vivian gives Miyabi a lot of on-field time since you can just activate her skill and let Miyabi do the work.

This team is very specific, but of course, you can have Burnice instead of Vivian for the off-field Anomaly and Astra as the Support.

Swap Team

One of the earliest teams that was used included Yanagi as a sub-DPS and having a Support or Stun character. Your F2P-friendly support can be Nicole or Rina. Your Stunner can be Trigger, but you can experiment with other characters you have. I tried having Koleda as a Stunner, but I felt that she took a lot of on-field time away from Miyabi.

Just another tip, it's best if you get M1 or M2 Miyabi since these have good effects and are extremely useful in stacking her damage. Just with M1 alone, you're able to continue doing the hold left-click attack, which for me is the source of her damage besides her ultimate.
